I spent some time this morning in the hammock, reading and journaling. Looking up into the tree canopies and through them to the clear sky, I was grateful. I watched and listened to the birds and reached out and put my hands on the tree that was supporting me in this powerful moment of pure presence and joy.
I felt so enamored in those moments, in love with the land and with everything that it is made of. I felt thankful for the soil as I reached down and placed my hands upon it.
This was another powerful lesson in the importance of taking time away from the stimuli that we constantly are bombarded with, either voluntarily or involuntarily. I encourage you to take time for yourself today, take time away from devices, from the desk or even from your friends and loved ones to simply connect. I find great clarity and inspiration in these moments, I hope that you will too!
