I had a sort of epiphany the other day, when this thought came to me. We tend to be so distracted these days, as a people and as a society. When are we quiet, just listening? Listening to our bodies, our spirit and our minds? It was said in a breath work session the other day with Yogi Amandeep Singh that silent and listen are the same word. In order to really listen, we must be silent. I find a lot of value in that.
When was the last time you put down your phone, turned off all electronics and sat with your bare feet in the dirt or grass and just were? It can feel very awkward, but that’s a sign that you’re doing something great. In your natural state, if you’re feeling anxious and a bit of fomo, that should really tell you something about how disconnected you are from yourself, from nature and from god. No doubt I experience this.
I highly recommend taking time at the beginning of the day and at the end of your day, to turn it all off. As Timothy Leary once said, “Turn on, tune in and drop out.” It’s in the silence when we can truly activate our consciousness, be in harmony with the cosmos and connect to the present by disconnecting from the framework that we place over our universe in order to contextualize this reality.
Sending love and blessings, be well.
